You can also set a randomness "factor" that will control how randomly student names are selected.

First create your class lists and save them. Then load the class list you want to use. Click on the Run Random Student button. A small blue rectangle will pop up from which you can click the Next button to randomly choose a student name.

Lab Partners V2.0

Lab Partners now includes two options: Random Partners and Lab Partners by Grades.

With random partners, you can load a student list for a given class, create random groups of two, three, four, or five students, and then print them out. Students who are absent can be removed or new students added. Student lists can be saved and loaded.

With Partners by Grades you can load a student list and a grade list for a given class and click and drop students into as many as eight groups. As the groups are formed, the average grades for each of the groups is calculated. When your groups are completed, you can print them out.

Student lists can also be exported from programs like Making the Grade and Excel. Step by step directions for exporting from these programs is included in Lab Partners.

Download and run the labpart.exe program by clicking on the Download Lab Partners button below. Then follow the install directions.

Smart Board Example
Adding Multiple Vectors

This demo module illustrates how to add several vectors together as long as they are in the N, S, E, or W directions. It was designed to be used with a Smart Board but could be used with a computer and projector.

On the opening screen, students come up and draw in the vectors (using their fingers) on the Smart Board, adding them head to tail. This leads to a set of two component vectors, one N-S and one E-W.

By pressing a button, an excel like screen appears that allows students to add up the N - S and E – W vectors, which shows that it gives them the same two component vectors.

The final button brings up a blank screen where students can draw in the final components of the resultant vector which were found first graphically and then mathematically above. Then the trigonometry calculations to find the magnitude and direction of the resultant can be written out on the Smart Board and printed out if desired.

Download and run the AddMultVect.exe program by clicking on the Download Adding Vectors button below. Then follow the install directions.
