A Vision for 21st Century Learning

The idea of using 3D video game technology to foster learning by motivating learners sounds great in theory. But I believe it will take a lot of resources, hard work, and crawling up a steep learning curve to make it happen. So far, we spend millions to develop fancy 3D state of the art video games, while spending almost nothing on more useful 2D learning  games.  I believe we need to concentrate on the 1st and 2nd tiers of game technology and leave the 3rd tier and 3D type technologies for the future.  Of course, any of these ideas will only come to fruition if we allocate the dollars and manpower to make it a reality. Here’s hoping.
